Deep Roots in Clarion, PA
The Carrier family has been a pillar of the Clarion, Pennsylvania community for centuries. At the heart of their legacy is PennWest Clarion, formerly known as Clarion University of Pennsylvania, which traces its origins to Carrier Seminary. Opening after the Civil War in 1867, Carrier Seminary was named in honor of the Carrier family for their commitment to community and financial contributions to education. Carrier family members served on the founding board of trusties. Through the years, the Carrier family continued the tradition of providing support and service to Clarion University and the Clarion community. Carrier Insurance is proud of their history and association with PennWest Clarion.

Carrier Insurance Agency and Notary Services has been a family-run business for several generations. The insurance agency was established in 1934 in Clarion, PA. Steve Carrier and his wife, Joanne, assumed leadership in 1960 following his great uncle's passing. The family legacy continued to flourish when, in 1982, their son, Mark, joined the agency, followed by Mark's wife, Tina, in 1993. Working collaboratively, Mark and Tina successfully managed the agency from 1995 until Mark's unfortunate passing in 2017. Presently, Tina Carrier is now the principal agent at Carrier Insurance, working alongside her two daughters and a dedicated team of staff members.
